You are invited to attend a public forum to meet and address all three candidates on Tuesday, May 13 at the Blake Hotel on McDowell Street starting with a candidate reception at 6 p.m. immediately followed by individual time with candidates. City Manager Curt Walton has announced that three finalists from a candidate pool of 47 applicants have been selected for consideration as the next Chief of Police for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).

Ken Burns at Spirit Square

The man who make the documentaries "The Civil War" and "The War" is coming to Charlotte to talk about the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence. Charlotte Center City Partners opposes location of Coyote Ugly Bar 

Charlotte Center City Partners has joined the Friends of Fourth Ward, Ivey's Condominium Owners Association and Avenue Homeowners Association in opposition to the location of a Coyote Ugly Bar in the first floor of the Ivey's retail at the corner of Fifth and Church Streets.

Two Center City Green Markets Underway
 
There are now two green markets for you to visit in the Center City...both on the Light Rail line!
 
The Uptown Market is at 7th Street, across from Reid's Fine Foods at the Seventh Street Station. You can park or ride the Light Rail. For details on the Uptown Green Market, click here.
 
The South End Tailgate Market is at Park and Camden. You can hop off at the Bland Street Station for Light Rail or the Park Avenue Station if you're on the Trolley. Parking is plentiful in South End as well. For details on the Tailgate Market, click here
